Huddersfield BID are bringing an exciting, comic-book culture themed event to the town centre this spring.
The ‘get your geek on’ event will offer the opportunity for town centre visitors to meet well known cosplay characters, purchase comic-book franchise themed goods, take part in ‘jedi training’ and participate in other entertaining activities. The weekend event makes for an ideal, family friendly day out with facepainting and an outdoor cinema providing entertainment for all ages.
Those taking part in Jedi fight training will be able to learn from Liam Neeson’s ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menance’ standing stunt double and can take away a certificate, badge and keyring.
We’re expecting to see a huge increase in footfall whilst the event takes place, which is great news for our local businesses.
Sam Sharp, Huddersfield BID manager comments, “What isn’t to love about this event. Where else can you spend the weekend in your local town, enjoying all that being different has to enjoy. Come dressed up, wearing your favourite Marvel Character T Shirt, carrying a Light Sabre or with “The Force” in your heart.
