Merry and Bright

Huddersfield Town Centre’s official start to the festive season! On Saturday, the 29th of November, we’re teaming up with Creative Piazza, The Parish Church, and Kirklees Council for a full day of family-friendly Merry and Bright festivities, running from 11 am to 8 pm.

Get Ready for the Merry and Bright Moment! Here are some instructions to help guide you through where to go and what to do!

• Arrive at St. Peter’s Gardens and find the Huddersfield BID gazebo before 3:00 pm.
• Collect your string of lights from Huddersfield BID.
• Ask a BID team member where you’ll be standing and head to your marked position along the route on the A1 boards.
• Once everyone is in position at exactly 5:00 pm, stay alert and watch for the Huddersfield BID team’s signal.
• On the signal, switch your lights on and hold them up high, to get into the Christmas spirit.
• Don’t forget to look out for the drone, capturing this amazing experience.
• Head down to St Peter’s Gardens for some Christmas bangers, browse the market if you haven’t already and watch the fire installations.

More about the Merry and Bright event:

10:00 am – 8:00 pm, there will be a Merry and Bright Festive Market on and around Byram St, Huddersfield HD1 1BU. There is also a one-day-only Christmas Tipi where 2 town centre pubs will be selling your fan-favourite drinks!

11:00 am – 4:30 pm The Creative Piazza has fantastic Winter Worlds activities full of workshops, acts, readings, train rides and much more. This is all at The Piazza Centre, Princess St, Huddersfield HD1 2RS

4:30 pm – 5:15 pm is The Merry and Bright Moment!

5:15 pm – 7:00 pm is when The Fire Garden around St. Peter’s Garden will be lit and ready to be admired by all.

5:45 pm – 7:00 pm is when Beers and Christmas Bangers begin. Grab a drink from the Christmas Tipi and join in with some well-known Christmas tune karaoke to end the night, but kick off the Festive Season!
