Huddersfield BID is happy to present the second Urban Artist Competition Charity Auction on the 18th of September, an evening dedicated to creativity, community, and giving back. This event invites locals and visitors alike to come together to celebrate the talent, energy, and vibrancy of Huddersfield through the eyes of its local artists.

Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary drink on arrival and a light buffet, setting the stage for an evening of art, conversation, and connection. From 6:45pm, the silent auction will open, showcasing a stunning collection of artworks created from this years Urban Artist Competition. Each piece tells a story, capturing unique perspectives of the town centre and offering attendees a chance to take home an original piece of Huddersfield while supporting two incredible local causes, The Kirkwood Hospice and the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

Samantha Sharp the CEO of Huddersfield BID “This is our second year of the Urban Artist and 2025 didn’t disappoint in producing a wealth of amazing paintings which captured our town. We celebrate the built environment of Huddersfield through the eyes of talented artists, who joined us for the day to record a day in Huddersfield at the Lawrence Batley theatre, University of Huddersfield and St Peters gardens. We would encourage people to visit the auction and bid on a piece of original art to raise money for two worthy causes

The Urban Artist Competition was created to celebrate Huddersfield town centre in all its forms, shining a light on its beauty, its character, and the hidden details that make it unique. While some areas face challenges, the competition encouraged artists to look beyond the negatives and discover the essence of the town. From its historic architecture and bustling university to its quiet corners full of charm. In doing so, it has inspired both artists and the wider community to view Huddersfield through fresh eyes and appreciate all that it has to offer.

The Urban Artist Competition Charity Auction is more than a fundraising event, it is a celebration of Huddersfield. Every bid placed at the auction directly supports two local charities that play vital roles in the community, helping to fund compassionate care, promote culture, and enrich lives across the town.

This evening is a vibrant gathering of creativity and community, where attendees can admire extraordinary artwork, engage with local talent, and make a difference for causes that matter. It is a night to celebrate Huddersfield, its history, its people, and the possibilities that come when art, generosity, and community come together.
