Huddersfield BID are pleased to announce that they have delivered, for the first time a Best Bar None Awards scheme, celebrating and rewarding the hard work and commitment of the Night-Time economy in Huddersfield Town centre.

The NTE in Huddersfield has seen a decline in footfall and income over the last few years, much the same as other towns and cities in the UK. Changing demographic tastes and economic challenges has seen the NTE struggle to recover after COVID with some disappearing from our towns and cities.

“And that’s a wrap! The Best Bar None Awards Ceremony was an incredible afternoon, dedicated to celebrating the very best of Huddersfield’s Night-Time Economy. All nominated venues were invited to join us, and it was great to see so many hardworking teams come together. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Best Bar None this year and helped make the event such a success. Your commitment to raising standards across Huddersfield’s pubs, bars, and venues truly makes a difference.”

Huddersfield BID champion the efforts of those businesses who continue to evolve, diversify and remain standing for their loyal customer base, who engage with us and take part in our events, digital app and the services we have to offer as a Business Improvement District. Working with the team at Urban Spark Group, we shared numerous emails, call outs, social media post, app notifications and invitations to our information events with the Night-time economy.

Yesterday’s awards was a culmination of the hard work carried out by Huddersfield BID, Urban Spark and the NTE finalists, who applied for an award. We welcomed 14 teams to the Huddersfield Literature Festival Tipi, hosted by Huddersfield Live at the wonderful Lawrence Batley Theatre. The NTE finalists came together to cheer each other on, swap stories, socialise and enjoy the atmosphere of the courtyard surroundings. Recognition was given to excellent Customer Service given by Claire Sheards , who works at the Head of Steam as well as public votes for best venue and best team, won by The Lord Wilson and The White Swan respectively.

We will be welcoming applications for the Best Bar None Awards Huddersfield 2026 in January 2026 and would encourage any NTE wishing to take part to apply.
