Merry and Bright

Huddersfield Town Centre’s official start to the festive season! On Saturday, the 29th of November, we’re teaming up with Creative Piazza, The Parish Church, and Kirklees Council for a full day of family-friendly Merry and Bright festivities, running from 11 am to 8 pm.

The highlight of the day will be the Merry and Bright Moment between 4:30 pm and 5:15 pm. On the day, you will need to visit the Huddersfield BID gazebo before 3 pm at St. Peter’s Garden to collect your string of lights and find your spot throughout the town after 4:00 pm.

Then, when our team gives the signal, we’ll all switch on together to create one giant, twinkling chain of lights across Huddersfield, lighting up the town one sparkle at a time.

Throughout the day, The Piazza will be filled with festive fun from free workshops, performances, and walkabouts.

There will also be a Merry and Bright Market on St Peter’s Gardens, packed with local makers, food, and drinks under the cosy Tipi tent.

As evening falls, follow the glowing fire beacons, where the Fire Garden will transform the spaces into a magical world of flames, sculptures, and music.

Round off the night with Beers and Christmas Bangers sing-along outside The Parish Church, celebrating the start of Huddersfield’s Christmas season together.
