At a time when business and trade in the town is challenging we need to ensure that we can that businesses can take advantage of the new opportunities as they emerge.
Huddersfield University’s £28 million Enterprise and Innovation Centre (EIC) opened this summer. This investment is part of a continued renewal of the town following the relocation and expansion of Kirklees College to Waterfront and the opening of Huddersfield Leisure Centre. The town has also seen an increase in urban living with Standard House being the latest residential accommodation. In order to capitalise on this and encourage even more new investment into the town we need to work together as a strong business community.
As a business in Huddersfield town centre, you are invited to a brief presentation and discussion about a Business Improvement District (BID) at:
5:30 p.m on Monday 18th September 2017
Huddersfield University, Oastler Building, Queensgate
A BID is a defined area where the rate-paying businesses decide on improvements to their area. They then vote on the plan and agree to invest in the delivery of activities which directly impact upon their business turnover and profit. There are over 270 BIDs across the UK now where businesses are shaping their towns and cities to benefit them.
Well managed BIDs ensure that the businesses within the BID area have a direct influence over the way in which the town is perceived, the trading and operating environment for businesses and the experience people have when they come and invest here.
The BID ensures a sustainable way of creating a cohesive plan with funds to invest in the area that helps develop the town as a destination and as a great place to do business. As this affects you and your business we need as many business owners as possible to get involved, shape the plan and identify what is important to businesses here.
This is an important opportunity so please come to the event and find out how you can get involved. Please r.s.v.p to email@example.com or telephone 01484 599233.
